Everbest's story began on a factory floor in 1960s Hong Kong, where its founder started as an apprentice under a group of Shanghai master shoemakers. There, he learned what a well-made shoe actually requires: the right leather for the right last, the correct needle for the correct thickness, and the patience to get each detail right before moving to the next.
By sixteen, when the factory's owner departed for the United States, the young apprentice was left to run it. It was an early, formative test — and the beginning of a career spent almost entirely inside the craft.
Through the 1970s, working in Hong Kong's premium footwear retailers, he developed a second expertise: fit. Understanding why a shoe fails a customer — the wrong last, the wrong shape — and how to correct it. Years of studying construction in Europe and manufacturing in Japan and Taiwan sharpened this further, shaping an approach that paired European craftsmanship standards with a practical understanding of Southeast Asian feet, climates, and daily life.
Everbest was founded on that combination. Rather than advertising heavily, the brand grew the way it always intended to — through customers who returned, and who brought others with them. From its first store, Everbest expanded across Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, and Vietnam, with Indonesia becoming its most significant market.Today, the next generation is joining the business, bringing new perspective to a brand still guided by its original standard: a shoe should fit properly, last, and be made without shortcuts.
